On-campus entrepreneurs

UNH Seniors Ashley Rozumek and Caleigh Adler have been entrepreneurs for three years now. Their jewelry company, A La Plage, features bold necklaces, fashionable bracelets and even matching earrings all inspired by their love of the beach. The idea came when they were Sophomores and they very quickly established themselves as a presence on and off campus. Their jewelry shows appeared in sorority houses, their story found a place in the pages of Main Street Magazine, and dozens of people booked shows with them. Here’s how it works. The girls show up to a home and set up a long table that displays all of their jewelry. Guests walk around, try on whatever they want, chat with their friends and typically end up making a purchase. The environment is very laid back and casual. The girls found their greatest success to come around the holiday season when people would buy pieces as gifts for friends, or even for themselves. Rozumek and Adler get the word out via their Facebook page and website that show off their hard work. “We want to try some really new things with the fall collection,” Rozumek says. To keep up with what’s coming next, visit the girls online.
