The lemonade stand project is eye opening, as I think is the
point of it. What kid never had a lemonade stand? It was so simple for us back
then. Our parents did everything and held our hands. Now that we’re
older, and can put into perspective that it is actually a small business,
opening one proves to be much more complicated. The location, the supplies, the
money needed to start up and the calculations needed to actually make a profit.
The idea of creating something out of nothing is actually quite intimidating. A
parallel can definitely be drawn to journalism. You need an idea, a concept,
interviews, focus, writing, editing, photography and other multimedia. It takes
a lot of work and cooperation from others to make ideas become a reality. The
reward in the end is worth it though. Well, if your idea ends up the way you
imagined, that is. It’s all in the execution and commitment to the cause.
